Application process

If you wish to apply for HWR International Doctoral Summer School “Application-oriented and practice-related research: "Mind the Gap" - "Find the Gap" - "Bridge the Gap", taking place from 7 – 11 September, 2026, at HWR Berlin, Campus Berlin-Schöneberg, please fill out the application form below.

Please prepare the following documents (as PDFs):

A cover letter explaining your motivation to attend the HWR International Doctoral Summer School (max. two pages)
CV (The CV should especially address your academic activities.)

Important notes:

Only complete applications that are submitted in due time will be considered.
You must be officially registered as a doctoral candidate at a university, university of applied sciences or a non-university research institute
The selection process will take approximately 6 to 8 weeks.

Please note: There is no participation fee for the HWR International Doctoral Summer School. PhD students are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs. They are advised to enquire at their home university about travel grants or scholarships (e.g. Erasmus mobility program).
