Young Researchers and Academics

To support young academics, HWR Berlin promotes academic exchange and networking among doctoral students by providing travel grants for conferences or meetings and also awards grants for further training costs, printing costs and similar expenses for academic career development.

Promotion within the framework of the support fund

The funding essentially comprises the following activities: 

• Further training to promote skills in the areas of methods of scientific work and empirical social research, scientific writing, presentation techniques, communication, negotiation, career and time management, self-marketing, networking, etc,
• Organization of scientific workshops for the presentation and discussion of your own research,
• Assumption of travel costs and/or participation fees for participation in scientific conferences or for scientific trips (e.g. to interview partners, archives).
• Assumption of printing cost subsidies for publications.
