Departments and BPS

The HWR Berlin comprises five Departments and the Berlin Professional School.

Students at the HWR Berlin can choose from a diverse portfolio of degree programmes. Most of these programmes are offered by the five Departments: Business and Economics, Cooperative Studies Business • Technology, Public Administration, Legal Studies, as well as Police and Security Management.

The HWR Berlin is also home to the Berlin Professional School, which combines the university's MBA and further education Master degree programmes.

Department 1: Business and Economics

The Department of Business and Economics at HWR Berlin offers numerous Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes. Understanding cross-sector and international correlations in an economic context is at the heart of these programmes.

As the largest provider of dual degree programmes in the capital, the Department of Cooperative Studies offers over 2,000 dual study places in 18 different disciplines.

The Department of Public Administration offers Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes with different educational profiles. In addition to Administrative Science, important competencies in the fields of law and management are taught.

At the Department of Legal Studies, students are trained in legal fundamentals, in specialist areas for higher grades of the judicial service, as well as for private enterprise.

Teaching and research in the service of security: The Department of Police and Security Management is responding to increasing security challenges in modern risk societies - and to the increasing international need for qualifications in the field.

Berlin Professional School

The HWR Berlin is one of the most distinguished universities for young managers in Germany. The university has bundled its MBA, continuing education master's and certificate programmes at the Berlin Professional School.
