Deutschlandticket for students

As a student, you can apply for the Deutschlandsemesterticket. It is valid throughout Germany on all forms of local public transport and is non-transferable. The cost of the Deutschlandticket is already included in the semester ticket fee, so you do not have to pay anything extra. If you have a privately purchased Deutschlandticket, you must cancel it yourself to avoid paying twice.
This is how it works:
- apply for a semester ticket - https://abo-antrag.de/studium (the HWR login is used for registration)
- please follow the instructions from the confirmation (comes by e-mail)
- install the S-Bahn Berlin app and complete user registration
- from approx. mid-March, the ticket will be stored digitally (active after 3-5 days after registration) and can be used from 1 April
The Deutschlandticket is personalised and is only available in digital form. In addition, the VBB logo will no longer be printed when you validate your CampusCard in one of the ticket machines. In the event of a ticket inspection, the Deutschlandticket must be shown on the smartphone and a valid, official photo ID must be carried.
