Applying to Companies
Anyone wishing to pursue a dual degree programme must first apply for a contract with the dual partner, i.e. a partner company of the Department of Cooperative Studies. We are happy to support you in your search.
For each degree programme, HWR Berlin provides an up-to-date overview of all participating cooperation partners: the list of dual partners. Prospective students must apply directly to these companies. Please note that many companies fill the places for the dual degree programme one year prior to the commencement of studies.
Prospective students apply directly to the partner companies and not to HWR Berlin. Cooperating companies draw up a study contract with successful applicants. This contract and proof of the university entrance qualification for the State of Berlin are the prerequisites for admission to the Department of Cooperative Studies.
Dual partners determine application terms
The company database, which contains information on contact persons and deadlines, serves as the basis for an application. Dual partners determine the concrete application terms and time frames. This means: there are several different application procedures (e.g. online application, application folder, assessment centre) and deadlines (often one year before the commencement of studies).
As well as the application form, the following documents are often required:
- An application letter
- A curriculum vitae
- Copies of certificates as well as relevant documents proving qualifications
- A letter of motivation, if applicable
Students receive monthly remuneration from dual partners for the entire duration of their studies. This corresponds to the rates in the industry sector. This means they pay study costs, irrespective of students’ parents' income. As at all universities in the state of Berlin, the course is state-funded.
You can do it – looking for a partner company
If you are interested in a dual study degree programme, you can easily look for a suitable company yourself. In this case, the company contacts the head of the relevant study programme in order to be accepted as a dual partner. Unfortunately, new companies can only be admitted if the study capacity in the degree programme in question allows for it.
