Led by Prof. Christian Matzdorf of Department 5: Police and Security Management, this hybrid session is for new international students starting at HWR Berlin.
Berlin is safe
In general, Berlin is a very safe city. Public transportation is highly frequented and safe to use during the day and night. Nevertheless, there are some areas where heightened alertness is advised. You should also be aware that pickpockets do operate in Berlin (especially in touristy areas) so you should make sure to take care of your belongings at all times.
Prof. Matzdorf will explain the dos and the don´ts of moving around Berlin to help you adjust to life in Berlin.
Who is this session for:
This session is mandatory for incoming exchange students. Full-degree students from abroad are strongly encouraged to log on online via BigBlueButton, regardless of whether they have arrived in Berlin or not.
Due to space restrictions, only exchange students can attend in-person in the Aula (Campus Schöneberg, Haus B).
